Having been a drama teacher for 27 years I completed a full-time MA in Professional Voice Practice at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire School of Acting (with Commendation) in October 2016. I initially trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and then spent ten years as a lecturer in Drama and Performing Arts at Kidderminster College. From 1998 to 2015 I was Head of Drama at the King’s School, Worcester.

I have been closely and actively involved with the Swan Theatre, Worcester, joining the youth theatre in 1974 at the age of ten. As a director I have directed 17 productions since then at the Swan Theatre, the most recent being ‘Journey’s End’ and ‘Entertaining Mr Sloane’. I was Assistant Director on major professional productions at Birmingham Rep ( ‘Julius Caesar’) and Bristol Old Vic (‘Turkey Time’ directed by Roger Rees).

At Kidderminster College (1988-98) I directed 24 major student productions, since 1998 I have directed over 50 productions at the John Moore Theatre, Worcester, and since 1975 I have acted at the Worcester Swan Theatre, Malvern Festival Theatre and Birmingham University. Recent roles include Molokov in ‘Chess’, Nixon in ‘Teechers’, Helmer in ‘A Doll’s House’, Eddie in ‘One Fine Day’ (one-man play – for the Worcester Festival), Bottom in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, Bill Sikes in ‘Oliver!’, John Worthing in ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, Antipholus of Syracuse in ‘The Comedy of Errors’, Higgins in ‘My Fair Lady’, Ed in ‘Entertaining Mr Sloane’, Sidney in ‘Absurd Person Singular’, David Horton in ‘The Vicar of Dibley’.

I am a Spotlight actor represented by the 34 Talent Group agency, a full member of Equity and the British Voice Association.
